Hey everyone its been a while since I have been on here, hope everyone is doing good! Anyways was wondering what everyone is currently feeding their bullies? Mason is having major yeast problems and I am thinking about switching his food once again. He is currently on natural balance fish and sweet potato and I have tried all of the other grain free formulas by natural balance except for the new bison and sweet potato but I figure if he hasn't done good on any of the other formulas he probably wouldn't the bison either. He is allergic to chicken and beef (eggs and milk too of course) and I also think he is allergic to barley. I've noticed a lot of the foods have chicken fat in them which of course he can't have. He has been on taste of the wild, raw food and several other foods that he hasn't done good on...he either has hives, yeast or crystals in his urine(with the venison and sweet potato). I know all dogs don't react to the food the same but was just wondering what everyone else's bullies were eating.

Well I had Maggie on TOTW Fish and switched her over to the Natural Balance Fish and Sweet Potato as well as the Bison (I mix 50/50) and she is doing great on it.  So I don't really have any suggestions seeing that Mason is and was on same as Maggs. Have you tried Merrick grain free? Maggie did terrible on it with loose stool but maybe it will work for him?

PS Great to see ya on here Kiss Grin

All of Merrick's grain free has chicken meal in it   Angry Dang I don't know what to do. I might try the natural balance bison just to see how it does because the fish just isn't working for him anymore. He has been on it for over a year and in the last couple of months the yeast is just getting out of hand with it. I mentioned to the manager at petco about Mason and she suggested me give him omega 3 and acidophilus because it worked for her collie that had yeast issues and she saw a difference in 2 weeks. Well Mason has been on it a month and I haven't seen one bit of difference  Sad My other 4 bullies are doing good on the fish and sweet potato still yet but none of them have allergies like Mason.I can clean his ears at night and by the next morning they are as bad if not worse then what they looked like before I cleaned them and I can bathe him and the next day his body smells yeasty.

Sorry, no help here either--since Heather suggested to us the nb fish and sweet potato that's what she has had with great success.  I hope you find what he needs--happy to see you!!!

We typically feed the bullies Perscription OM from the vet...though we did end up buying Purina One [Same brand as the perscription due to not having it in at the vets] Strange thing...Tank's face was really sore...fighting the wrinkles from being sore...using Pinxav and melesab solution to try and keep up with them. Switched back just this week to the OM. And...am seeing amazing results to his face clearing up! How can that be I ask myself...when it is the same company...Though I never checked the ingrediants. Just thought it puzzling...It had to be the food...

Hope you get this yeast thing under control...it's not a fun thing.

funny thing we tried petey on all the "bully" foods that are recommended and he was sick and loose stools and very very gassy, we bought a bag of pedigree small adult crunchy bites and he quit being sick, has normal stools, and he isnt very gassy at all anymore, not all bullies are going to react the same to the same types of food, but you will find the right one eventually and you will know when you do. good luck and hope Mason and you get his yeast problem under control

Have you tried the Flint River Ranch range?

"Flint River Ranch Trout and Potato - also know as Fish & Chips! - is a tasty option for food-sensitive dogs: Fish & Chips dog food does not contain corn, wheat, chicken, or rice."

http://www.flintriver.com/productinfo.asp?pi=Flint-River-Ranch-Fish-Chips-Dog-Food.htm

Goose was on this for a while and really enjoyed it.

Boo is on Purina HA (hypoallergenic) and we thought she was doing good at first but she is still so itchy, licking her paws all the time. Last time we had her at the vet he said her face was bad too but I didn't see it, but it is itchy also because she does scratch it a bit. For itching we give her 3x a day Chlorpheniramine. It does seem to help. We get it from the vet and 1000 pills were $179 Shocked but if it helps her...
One thing lately she seems to have lost weight, I noticed it the other day and we have started to walk her again after the awful winter but it kind of concerns me. I put her collar on and had to tighten it about 2 in. and when you look down at her her waist seems more indented than it used to be. I will have to keep an eye on it. She seems to feel good tho.

Thanks everyone! I actually decided to try Mason on raw(bravo) because I couldn't find a dry food that would work for him. He has been on it for almost 2 weeks now and absolutely loves it! The vet told me to bathe him in duoxo chlorhexidine shampoo and use the spray and the pads and he is on ketaconazole for the yeast and right now is acting like a puppy again! I sure hope he continues to do this well.

Sarge licks his feet. But the vet said that nothing is wrong with his feet. And that he's most likely doing it due to boredom.  Undecided
